Peter Citera, please come home...

...PLEASE. Chicago NEEDS you. More on that later.

WOW!

That's almost all I have to say. Well, okay, not ALL that I have to say. Tee hee.

Just got back from the EW&F/Chicago concert.

First, it was HOT and I don't just mean the music. I mean in the concert itself. It was an outdoor venue and we had some pretty awesome seats. We were in the VIP box with a bunch of drunk VIP's. LOL. I live in TX, even at night it's still like 900 degrees out. I also don't sweat. I have this gland thing, which may seem really great if you're a girl and you never have to worry about looking like you just ran the 10K. However, it's kind of an issue for me because it means instead of working off that heat--I internalize it and pass out. LMAO

R was really awesome about making sure I was okay. He went and got me bottled water and some napkins so I could keep my neck wet. He even held up my hair while I did it. He actually wouldn't even let me go get the water because he said it was "my" concert.

Big, fricken' girlie sigh.
Shitpissfuck.

Moving right along. LOLLOL

Anywhoooo, I had a FAB time. it was hotter than hell, people were kinda drunk (which is a hoot if you're a people watcher like me) and sometimes we couldn't see due to very tall people in front of us, but it was still FAB. We had some pretty great seats too, thanks to R's friend.

Each group did their own thing at first and I gotta tell ya EW&F was awesome. They sound just like they did on the radio. Still can't understand a fricken' word they say, but those horns...I get a chill just thinking about it.

I was thrilled to hear them play every last hit I'd remembered as a kid.

Chicago? Weeeelllll, lemme just say this. The guy who sang lead vocals for them was not shabby by any stretch of the imagination, but he ain't Peter. Not by a long shot. The music itself was pure Chicago. When they sang "Color My world", both R and I looked at each other and said, simultaneously (because we have that lame brain sharing co-op thing going on), "that was nice." And it was, very nice. As was the flute solo.

When the two groups got together in the end--it was SPECTACULAR. I'm deaf now as a result of their FABULOUSNESS, but who cares? NOTHING beats September. Nothing. Played as a cooperative effort with horns blaring and vocals in sync--it was incredible. They did several of each groups songs and sung together, it was awe inspiring :)

Oh, and the guy with the long hair who has more energy than a two year old and bounces around like one of those bobbing dolls you put on the dashboard of your car was terrific. Jeez, the dude can motivate. He didn't stop moving once. Not the entire time he was on stage. I was mesmerized by his energy. Then, I was whooped and felt old. LMAO

R and I spent most of the concert plastered up against each other--despite the heat. Somehow, we manage to do that no matter what. We smooch and cuddle and all that goopy couple stuff. We're not pawing each other in public, but PDA doesn't seem to be an issue for us. If we can find a way, we have a body part touching.

Yet, another sigh...

I had a really GREAT night.

Thanks honey, for thinking of me and remembering I love EW&F--you da man, baby :)

Dakota :)

R sounds like a keeper. My hubby does stuff like the holding the hair up to cool off. It is the little things that make the difference. I'm so happy for you.

Trolling for Johns to earn money for the concerts is a decent idea. But you better go out there a few days in advance. At $2 a pop, it may take you a couple days to earn your ticket money.

    LMAO, and how!!!!

Who knows... maybe someday before 2007 someone who really cares about you will surprise you with a trip.
